Who is Destinee Devina?
Hello, my name is Destinee Devina. I was born in the Summer of the early 90's into the most loving & giving family. Since my birth I've been on borrowed time. During my mother's pregnancy, her doctors did not believe I would survive full term. To their surprise I was born a few months early with only a minor respiratory issue. After making up the months I missed, I was finally allowed to leave the hospital. That day my family was in a "should be fatal" car accident. The emergency response team was astonished when they saw movement from the wreckage. The Being that was watching over me continued to do so even into my teens. In high school I was in a minor car accident which lead to a series of migraines. Years later I developed chronic pain, inflammation, fatigue, scoliosis, vasovagal syncope & cardiomyopathy. Having such a heavy diagnoses at a young age was extremely difficult. I felt destroyed. Little did I know, destruction is a form of creation. Being in a hospital bed with hours to myself, allowed me to think. I now understand why timeouts are implemented to children that misbehave. Confronting oneself is one of the most difficult & painful things to do. However, self talk & regulation is absolutely necessary if one wishes to grow. Once I began to look within myself I realized my purpose in this world is to gain as much knowledge as possible, translate it to anyone willing to listen & to live by example of my acquired knowledge. At the age of 16 I left high school & went straight to university, with a major in Psychology & a minor in Philosophy & Biology. I also started writing for a website by the name of Examiner. I began writing weekly holistic health articles that soon gained popularity. At the age of 19 I became the youngest writer for Examiner to reach the top 5 rankings. By the age of 20, I became the number one Examiner for the Philadelphia branch. Whilst finishing my degree, I also completed a few certifications ranging in various topics such as planetary science, personal training, & nutrition. My hard work & focus began to pay off in the beginning of 2016. I was nominated for The Philadelphia's Happening List for Personal Trainer & Nutritionist. In early 2017, I went from being a personal trainer at a local gym to the manager in less than a year. I've always been motivated by the fear of being average & defeat has never been part of my lexicon. With a deepening of understanding, I felt a huge need for a change in the world. My dream is to have my own holistic health center where like minded people may converse, eat & explore every dimension of their being. I also want to convert a school bus into a mobile home so that I may travel the world spreading positivity, teaching, volunteering & writing books. Although I have just started my journey, I can tell that I will change the world. I have a lot of hope for the future and plenty of plans. I may not see them manifest in my life time but I hope to instill my beliefs, wants & dreams into others as well as encourage them to act on their own.
